BlueFish
Microarray CGH delivers a high resolution screen able to identify regions of copy number imbalance across the genome. Current practice is to confirm all potentially pathogenic imbalances by FISH (fluorescence in situ hybridization). BlueFish probes enable this requirement to be met by offering a high quality library of 26,000, prelabelled, FISH probes spanning the entire genome.
Full details of available probes, their location and cytogenetic band, are accessible to BlueFish users through this website together with information on whether the probe is available as DNA template for a short turnaround, or whether culturing of the BAC will be required. Where available, results and images from internal and customer hybridizations are displayed in order to further assist with selection of the most suitable probe.
Where DNA template is available probes are labelled in either SpectrumGreen™ or SpectrumOrange™ range equivalents every Monday and, following quality control of the labelling reaction, are shipped internationally on Wednesday. Where DNA template is not available probes are first cultured adding up to two weeks to the turnaround time.
Probes may be order individually as a single 5 μl aliquot sufficient for 5 hybridizations. Shipment by post is included in the price with the option to request delivery, at additional cost, by courier. Probes are invoiced on dispatch though it is usual for laboratories to set up an account in order to minimise transaction costs and ensure immediate production of urgent probes.
