Biomarker discovery service

BlueFuse for Biomarkers is a comprehensive service for the discovery and screening of candidate metabolic markers using NMR and mass spectrometry data. The service accepts either biological samples or raw spectral data. BlueFuse for Biomarkers combines advanced mathematics with extensive metabolic profiling expertise to provide a comprehensive set of services ranging from discovery of putative sets of disease and drug markers to the development of predictors for clinical diagnosis. The service comprises the full analysis pipeline:

• Design and QC. Advice is provided on experimental design. Extensive quality control is performed on supplied spectra, alternatively BlueGnome are able to offer a full data acquisition service using GC-MS or LC-MS.
  
• Pre-processing. BlueFuse automatically removes unwanted bias and noise including normalization to ensure comparability of samples, peak alignment and baseline correction.
  
• Feature extraction. BlueFuse works directly on raw high resolution data avoiding edge artefacts associated with traditional binning methods.
  
• Discovery algorithms. Powerful nonlinear univariate and multivariate approaches are used to improve the automation, robustness and quality of metabolic marker discovery.
  
• Candidate markers. All results are manually confirmed and where possible metabolites are annotated. Uniquely all results are provided with an indication of data quality and confidence.
